BPCA employs a professional staff team to carry out the day-to-day duties of the Association. The team has between them over 150 years experience in association management, and includes pest control professionals who have worked for a range of companies and run businesses themselves, a chartered accountant, a MBA-qualified company secretary, and staff with extensive expertise in event management, marketing, web design, financial control and account management.

Simon began his career in the NHS in London, and in the mid 1990’s moved to a senior association management role. He has worked for professional and trade associations in the healthcare, business tourism and construction sectors. Simon has an MBA from Birmingham City University, specialising in association mergers and innovation in not-for-profit companies.
Simon provides leadership to the BPCA team and has responsibility for implementing strategy to the benefit of members. He is also BPCA Company Secretary, and supports the Board through delivery of advice, information and governance. In February 2013 Simon was elected a director of the Confederation of European Pest Management Associations, and represents BPCA internationally.
Operations Manager
Lorraine has a wealth of experience, predominantly gained as a Chartered Accountant working with SME businesses. She has enjoyed the steep learning curve into the Industry during her time with BPCA; an industry she now feels very passionately about.
Though currently on maternity leave, Lorraine’s role sits in direct support of the Association’s Chief Executive and manages the Derby team and offices as well as the clients of Trade Associations Services Ltd (TAS). She is available to assist and advise the members on a range of issues including finances.

After graduating from Lancaster University in 1997 with a Ba (Hons) in History, Richard joined National Britannia as a service technician in the Wigan area and within 18 months was promoted to the level of Field Biologist, carrying out in depth inspections of sites primarily in the North West of England.
Richard joined BPCA in 2008 as our Technical Manager, providing Training technical support and advice for members as well as dealing with technical enquiries from the general public. Richard’s knowledge of the industry and associated legislation has allowed him to take part in industry specific lobbying and committees to support BPCA objectives. Richard also produces white paper documents for the Association.

Tammy graduated from Lancaster University in 2002 with a BA (Hons) in History. After graduating Tammy experienced a variety of roles in retail, mortgage and administration, before finally finding her niche at the BPCA.
Tammy joined BPCA in July 2005 and co-ordinates the Training arm of the BPCA. She works tirelessly to develop new courses with our Technical Manager and external consultants Tammy has in depth knowledge of our Training courses and has achieved her Level 2 Certificate in Pest Control.

Kevin has worked in public health and pest control for the military and in a number of countries. He joined Rentokil as a Technician and then went on to be a Technical Surveyor. He has worked as a consultant in Saudi, Egypt and the Trucial Oman states delivering training and logistical support. On returning from the Middle East, he formed a pest control company with other industry colleagues and built it into a national account before selling it.
An active member of the BPCA for many years on committees and holding the presidency for an unprecedented 3 consecutive terms. Kevin is now a life member of the BPCA, and working in the present role of Membership Manager enables his pest and business experience to be utilised for the benefit of members.

Rachel joined BPCA in 1992 when it was based in St James' Court. Rachel has great knowledge of the BPCA gained through a number of different roles within the business ranging from training, events and general membership advice and support.
Rachel's current role as Membership Officer provides support to prospective and existing members within the UK and Overseas with responsibility for new applications, maintaining communication with existing members, management of complaints and mis-representation of membership.

Amanda joined the BPCA in 2002 as PA to the Directors and since joining has supported a number of business areas.
Amanda’s current role provides key day to day support for our Finance Department as well as administration support for the rest of the operations team and BPCA committees. Amanda also provides guidance and mentoring for junior members of the team.

Sofi joined the BPCA team in February 2005, having worked previously in property advertising and sales.
As Events Officer Sofi’s time is spent ensuring the BPCA is promoted at National and international events. Sofi organises the BPCA Regional Training forums providing members with the opportunity to engage with industry specialists the BPCA board and other organisations that can help in promoting and supporting your business needs.

Stephanie joined us in 2012 and brings with her a wealth of experience from her finance career in both the public and private sector.
Stephanie is responsible for management of the BPCA finance function.

Laurence previously worked in Marketing at the University of Derby, and prior to this he was a full time board member of the Students’ Union responsible for marketing and communication, which included an award winning monthly student magazine with a readership of 20,000.
Responsible for the marketing and communications of the association this role includes the development and maintenance of our websites, presence on external websites, social media, online and email marketing. Laurence is also responsible for the management and advertising of PPC and alexo magazines.

Before joining BPCA Emily was in full time education, studying business at a local college.
Emily manages BPCA HQ reception and any associated administration work, such as enquiry handling, answering phones, greeting guests and preparing materials for meetings. She also provides administration support to all other areas of the BPCA operation.

Maddy is providing maternity cover for Lorraine Norton. Maddy has a background in customer service, business improvement and project management.
Maddy is managing the projects of the Association as well as providing support to the Chief Executive and field based staff.

Natalie trained and worked as a pest control technician for various companies. Having previously worked for BPCA, she has also worked for Leeds City Council.
Natalie is responsible for visiting and supporting BPCA members, throughout the country, focusing on the importance of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), offering servicing members advice and support in achieving our 100% CPD criteria, which takes effect for all members from the end of 2014. Natalie will also be working with the whole BPCA team on a variety of other projects.
